QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party-Mengal, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons and the Baloch Bar Association have rejected a list of missing people published by the provincial home department and said it was meant to deceive people.
The three organisations alleged on Thursday that intelligence agencies had picked up several political activists just three days ago.
The BNP-M and VBMP held separate rallies and lawyers observed a partial boycott of courts in the city on the call of Baloch Bar Association to mark the International Human Rights Day.
The two organisations accused security forces of gross violation of human rights in Balochistan.
Mr Sadiq Raisani, convener of the Baloch Bar Association, in a statement said that lawyers had boycotted courts in Mastung, Kalat, Nushki, Sibi, Khuzdar, Dera Murad Jamali, Hub, Panjgur and Turbat to condemn what he claimed new ‘kidnappings’ of political workers by intelligence agencies.
Agha Hasan Baloch, Information Secretary of BNP-M, and Nasrullah Bungulzai, Chairman of VBMP, addressed rallies outside the Quetta Press Club and Manan chowk respectively.
They claimed that arrest of Baloch political workers by intelligence agencies was continuing.
